His international career includes innovatively designed concert programs, radio broadcasts, and acclaimed recordings. His artistic activities are complemented by a lifelong dedication to pedagogy, concert lectures, and workshops, which inspire a new generation of musicians.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- \/module text --><!-- module text -->\n<div  class=\"module module-text tb_1ju875 cv_text_1  \" data-lazy=\"1\">\n        <div  class=\"tb_text_wrap\">\n        <p>Ivan \u0160iller has closely collaborated with many leading composers, including Philip Glass, Elliott Sharp, Louis Andriessen, Chris Newman, Dai Fujikura, Piet Jan van Rossum, Daniel Matej, and Milan Adam\u010diak. In the 2024\/2025 season, he will present chamber recitals in Brno and Bratislava, where the premieres of contemporary composers will reflect the composition <em data-start=\"855\" data-end=\"889\">Trois morceaux en forme de poire<\/em> by Erik Satie. His solo recitals at the Slovak Philharmonic in Bratislava, Pardubice, and Ko\u0161ice will offer a program of works by Franz Schubert, Alban Berg, B\u00e9la Bart\u00f3k, and Gy\u00f6rgy Ligeti. Ivan \u0160iller continues his long-term collaboration with soprano Helga Varga Bach, and together they are gradually presenting a collection of 114 songs by Charles Ives, recording them for the Slovak Radio. With Ensemble Ricercata, he will present the multimedia project <em data-start=\"1348\" data-end=\"1358\">CAGE 113<\/em>, offering a unique perspective on John Cage\u2019s <em data-start=\"1405\" data-end=\"1428\">Beach Bird for Camera<\/em>. With the ZOE Chamber Orchestra, he is systematically engaged in the interpretation of all the piano concertos by J. S. Bach.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- \/module text --><!-- module text -->\n<div  class=\"module module-text tb_5735258 cv_text_1  \" data-lazy=\"1\">\n        <div  class=\"tb_text_wrap\">\n        <p>In July 2025, a 3-CD recording exclusively featuring the solo and chamber works of Slovak composer Tom\u00e1\u0161 Boro\u0161 will be released by the Hudobn\u00fd fond publishing house. This recording is the latest addition to a series of critically acclaimed collaborations with Hudobn\u00fd fond, following the albums <em data-start=\"1851\" data-end=\"1871\">Old Boys Anthology<\/em> (2023), <em data-start=\"1880\" data-end=\"1895\">VENI ensemble<\/em> (2019), and <em data-start=\"1908\" data-end=\"1928\">Ensemble Ricercata<\/em> (2016). The <em data-start=\"1941\" data-end=\"1961\">Old Boys Anthology<\/em> recording has received several prestigious reviews, including those in the American magazine <em data-start=\"2055\" data-end=\"2064\">Fanfare<\/em>, Czech <em data-start=\"2072\" data-end=\"2082\">Harm\u00f3nia<\/em>, and the Spanish magazine <em data-start=\"2109\" data-end=\"2118\">Scherzo<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- \/module text --><!-- module text -->\n<div  class=\"module module-text tb_sve958 cv_text_1  \" data-lazy=\"1\">\n        <div  class=\"tb_text_wrap\">\n        <p>In addition to Hudobn\u00fd fond, Ivan \u0160iller also closely collaborates with the InMusic publishing house. In 2018, he released his debut solo album <em data-start=\"2265\" data-end=\"2272\">FIFTY<\/em>, a collection of more than 20 pieces by contemporary composers. In 2020, the album <em data-start=\"2356\" data-end=\"2372\">Lasciar sonare<\/em> followed, featuring works by P. Glass, V. Silvestrov, G. Ligeti, and M. Burlas, which was nominated for a Radio_Head Award in the classical music category. For the American label MODE Records, together with the VENI ACADEMY ensemble, he recorded the album <em data-start=\"2629\" data-end=\"2641\">Dispersion<\/em> featuring the music of Elliott Sharp. In 2016, with the Cluster ensemble, he released the triple album <em data-start=\"2745\" data-end=\"2782\">Cluster ensemble plays Philip Glass<\/em> for the labels Orange Mountain Music (USA) and Hevhetia (SK), which received significant acclaim in the British <em data-start=\"2895\" data-end=\"2909\">The Guardian<\/em> and the American <em data-start=\"2927\" data-end=\"2938\">Pitchfork<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- \/module text --><!-- module text -->\n<div  class=\"module module-text tb_iqob797 cv_text_1  \" data-lazy=\"1\">\n        <div  class=\"tb_text_wrap\">\n        <p>Ivan \u0160iller also serves as the program director for the international festival <em data-start=\"3020\" data-end=\"3032\">PIANO DAYS<\/em>, which includes workshops and programs for children, podcasts with performers, and radio recordings. He has been leading a cycle of chamber concerts at the Art Gallery in Nov\u00e9 Z\u00e1mky for 18 years and has been organizing chamber concerts at the Slovak Radio for 12 years. His aim is to bring innovative concert programs to smaller towns in Slovakia.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- \/module text --><!-- module text -->\n<div  class=\"module module-text tb_3ian953 cv_text_1  \" data-lazy=\"1\">\n        <div  class=\"tb_text_wrap\">\n        <p>Ivan \u0160iller is the recipient of numerous awards. In 2014, he won two Radio_Head Awards for the best recording with the VENI ACADEMY ensemble. From 2016 to 2018, he and the Cluster ensemble were nominated for the Tatra Bank Foundation Art Award and the Crystal Wing Award. In 2000, the Minister of Education of the Slovak Republic awarded him the St. Gorazd Medal for his contributions to education. He received the prize for the best piano collaboration at the EMCY international competition in Hamburg and the laureate title at the piano competition in Dublin.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- \/module text --><!-- module text -->\n<div  class=\"module module-text tb_gldr615 cv_text_1  \" data-lazy=\"1\">\n        <div  class=\"tb_text_wrap\">\n        <p>As an artist transcending the boundaries of traditional interpretation, he co-creates alternative educational platforms, such as the student project <em data-start=\"4094\" data-end=\"4108\">VENI ACADEMY<\/em> and the <em data-start=\"4117\" data-end=\"4134\">Sound Orchestra<\/em> series of children\u2019s workshops, focusing on improvisation, graphic scores, and experimental music. He is the founder of the <em data-start=\"4259\" data-end=\"4279\">U\u010dite\u013esk\u00e9 kol\u00e9gium<\/em> (Teachers&#8217; College), which supports innovative approaches in higher education and works on developing new study programs for universities. He works as an associate professor at the Faculty of Education in Bratislava and as the pedagogical director of <em data-start=\"4531\" data-end=\"4549\">Superar Slovakia<\/em>. He is involved in teacher education through courses on how to teach music effectively. In the spring of 2022, he launched the <em data-start=\"4677\" data-end=\"4686\">IMAGINE<\/em> documentary film series in collaboration with Bra\u0148o Gotthard, which explores the music of the 20th and 21st centuries.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- \/module text --><!-- module text -->\n<div  class=\"module module-text tb_brk1997 cv_text_1  \" data-lazy=\"1\">\n        <div  class=\"tb_text_wrap\">\n        <p>During his studies, he participated in artistic residencies at the Tanglewood Music Center (USA), Banff Centre for the Arts (Canada), and Darmst\u00e4dter Ferienkurse (Germany). In the 2024\/2025 season, he will present chamber recitals in Brno and Bratislava, where the premieres of contemporary composers will reflect the composition <em data-start=\"855\" data-end=\"889\">Trois morceaux en forme de poire<\/em> by Erik Satie. With the ZOE Chamber Orchestra, he is systematically engaged in the interpretation of all the piano concertos by J. S. Bach.<\/p> <p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In July 2025, a 3-CD recording exclusively featuring the solo and chamber works of Slovak composer Tom\u00e1\u0161 Boro\u0161 will be released by the Hudobn\u00fd fond publishing house. This recording is the latest addition to a series of critically acclaimed collaborations with Hudobn\u00fd fond, following the albums <em data-start=\"1851\" data-end=\"1871\">Old Boys Anthology<\/em> (2023), <em data-start=\"1880\" data-end=\"1895\">VENI ensemble<\/em> (2019), and <em data-start=\"1908\" data-end=\"1928\">Ensemble Ricercata<\/em> (2016). The <em data-start=\"1941\" data-end=\"1961\">Old Boys Anthology<\/em> recording has received several prestigious reviews, including those in the American magazine <em data-start=\"2055\" data-end=\"2064\">Fanfare<\/em>, Czech <em data-start=\"2072\" data-end=\"2082\">Harm\u00f3nia<\/em>, and the Spanish magazine <em data-start=\"2109\" data-end=\"2118\">Scherzo<\/em>.<\/p> <p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Hudobn\u00fd fond, Ivan \u0160iller also closely collaborates with the InMusic publishing house. In 2018, he released his debut solo album <em data-start=\"2265\" data-end=\"2272\">FIFTY<\/em>, a collection of more than 20 pieces by contemporary composers. In 2020, the album <em data-start=\"2356\" data-end=\"2372\">Lasciar sonare<\/em> followed, featuring works by P. Glass, V. Silvestrov, G. Ligeti, and M. Burlas, which was nominated for a Radio_Head Award in the classical music category. For the American label MODE Records, together with the VENI ACADEMY ensemble, he recorded the album <em data-start=\"2629\" data-end=\"2641\">Dispersion<\/em> featuring the music of Elliott Sharp. In 2016, with the Cluster ensemble, he released the triple album <em data-start=\"2745\" data-end=\"2782\">Cluster ensemble plays Philip Glass<\/em> for the labels Orange Mountain Music (USA) and Hevhetia (SK), which received significant acclaim in the British <em data-start=\"2895\" data-end=\"2909\">The Guardian<\/em> and the American <em data-start=\"2927\" data-end=\"2938\">Pitchfork<\/em>.<\/p> <p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ivan \u0160iller also serves as the program director for the international festival <em data-start=\"3020\" data-end=\"3032\">PIANO DAYS<\/em>, which includes workshops and programs for children, podcasts with performers, and radio recordings. He has been leading a cycle of chamber concerts at the Art Gallery in Nov\u00e9 Z\u00e1mky for 18 years and has been organizing chamber concerts at the Slovak Radio for 12 years. His aim is to bring innovative concert programs to smaller towns in Slovakia.<\/p> <p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ivan \u0160iller is the recipient of numerous awards. In 2014, he won two Radio_Head Awards for the best recording with the VENI ACADEMY ensemble. From 2016 to 2018, he and the Cluster ensemble were nominated for the Tatra Bank Foundation Art Award and the Crystal Wing Award. In 2000, the Minister of Education of the Slovak Republic awarded him the St. Gorazd Medal for his contributions to education. He received the prize for the best piano collaboration at the EMCY international competition in Hamburg and the laureate title at the piano competition in Dublin.<\/p> <p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As an artist transcending the boundaries of traditional interpretation, he co-creates alternative educational platforms, such as the student project <em data-start=\"4094\" data-end=\"4108\">VENI ACADEMY<\/em> and the <em data-start=\"4117\" data-end=\"4134\">Sound Orchestra<\/em> series of children\u2019s workshops, focusing on improvisation, graphic scores, and experimental music. He is the founder of the <em data-start=\"4259\" data-end=\"4279\">U\u010dite\u013esk\u00e9 kol\u00e9gium<\/em> (Teachers' College), which supports innovative approaches in higher education and works on developing new study programs for universities. He works as an associate professor at the Faculty of Education in Bratislava and as the pedagogical director of <em data-start=\"4531\" data-end=\"4549\">Superar Slovakia<\/em>. He is involved in teacher education through courses on how to teach music effectively. In 2004, he won a bursary for the Internationale Ferienkurse f\u00fcr Neue Musik Darmstadt, Germany (Kaya Haan, Nicolas Hodges a Uli Wiget), and in 2005 he obtained a prestigious Tanglewood Music Center scholarship in the USA (piano \u2013 Emanuel Ax, Joseph Kalichstein, Claude Frank; chamber music \u2013 Joseph Silverstein, Pamela Frank, Ursula Oppens and Timothy Genis). In 2007, he received a bursary from the Banff Centre for the Arts in Canada.<\/p>\n<p>As a student, he took part in several competitions. He was the winner of a Slovak competition for chamber ensembles (piano duet with Lenka B\u00e1lintov\u00e1); he won first place at the P\u00e1l Kadosa competition in Levice and the prize for best piano accompaniment at the European Music Competition for Youth in Hamburg (soprano - Adriana Ku\u010derov\u00e1). He participated in the International Piano Competition in Dublin, where he caught the jury\u2019s attention with his dramaturgy and performance of Ravel\u2019s sonatas.<\/p><p>As well as solo recitals, he regularly performs in concerts with his chamber partners, in particular with David Danel, Milan Pa\u013ea (violin), Ronald \u0160ebesta (clarinet), Helga Varga Bach (soprano), Tom Boro (piano), Fero Kir\u00e1ly (piano), Jozef Lupt\u00e1k (cello), Enik Ginzery (cymbalom) and others. He worked with the theatre ensembles Walpurgis (Antwerp) and Wederzijds (Amsterdam), with whom he presented a new production about the life and music of Charles Ives in the 2002\/2003 season.<\/p>\n<p>Ivan \u0160iller\u2019s musical activity also includes active collaboration with contemporary Slovak and foreign composers. He has taken part in the following festivals: Ve\u010dery novej hudby, Orfeus, Konvergencie, Week of Contemporary Music Gent, Philippe Herrewegh\u2019s festival, Ostravsk\u00e9 dny nov\u00e9 hudby, Festival van Vlaanderen, Steinway festival Bijlok, Gentse Feesten, Pra\u017esk\u00e9 jaro, Melos-\u00c9tos. He has performed concerts in various European countries, mainly in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, the Czech Republic and the USA.<\/p><p>Alongside his many concerts, Ivan \u0160iller is the initiator and organiser of a wide range of various musical and educational projects. As a student at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, he helped found the Orfeus student festival; during his studies at the Royal Conservatory in Ghent, he produced the Chamber Music Festival and the Evening of Slovak Music. His projects Stretnutia[Meetings] (Levice, Bratislava) and the Chamber concerts cycle (Watou, Belgium) combined music and the spoken word, thus giving spectators the opportunity to deepen their relationship with classical music.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In collaboration with Milica Kailingov\u00e1, he created the project of creative workshops and concerts for children and young people \u201cMusic from (exactly) the last century\u201d and \u201cEncounters with music\u201d. As part of the Convergences chamber festival, he introduced concerts for children. He founded and was the artistic director of the SPACE festival, which focused on presenting 20th and 21st century music.<\/p><p>In 2006, he initiated the creation of a cycle of chamber concerts in the Nitra Gallery and in the Ernest Zmet\u00e1k Art Gallery in Nov\u00e9 Z\u00e1mky; since 2009, he has worked with the Stanica \u017dilina-Z\u00e1rie\u010die ie organisation. In 2008, he prepared a festival aimed at presenting a period instrument dating from 1815: the Hammerklavier festival, which continued successfully in the following years. He also prepared the chamber festival \u201c Schubertiady\u201d. With Enik\u0151 Ginzery, he organised the Tokaj Art Summer Music Courses in eastern Slovakia, where he also gave piano lessons.<\/p>\n<p>In 2006, in cooperation with the Nitra Gallery, he created a happening using Erik Satie\u2019s music, called Vexations. In 2009, he gave the Slovak premiere of Steve Reich\u2019s composition \u201cSix Pianos\u201d, together with students of the Academy of Performing Arts, and prepared further concerts featuring this unusual line-up.<\/p><p>Ivan \u0160iller has also profiled himself as a conductor. For several years, he led the youth choir Eben Ezer, with whom he gave several concerts in Slovakia and abroad. He played and produced a concert version of W. A. Mozart\u2019s Requiem. He was the conductor of the children\u2019s choir Kvap\u00f4\u010dky.
